Accessibility Statement

For simplicity, our Accessibility Statement is available in English only.  We invite users to consider using  translation tools such as Google Translate, if they would like to read the statement in an alternative language.

This website is run by Good News Chinese Christian Church.   We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.  We are all created by God in His image.  We value the differences and abilities of all individuals who may visit our website.  We have considered formatting our site to facilitate able-bodied or disabled people can equally access, navigate and interact with our site content.

When developing our website, we considered the four principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which lay the foundation necessary for anyone to access and use web content.   

• Perceivable - Information and interface components are presented in ways users can perceive.

• Operable – Navigation is clear and easily used.

• Understandable - Information and content is easily understandable.

• Robust – Content can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of users.

We have considered low vision formatting to enhance the ability to successfully navigate through our site, such as background and foreground color contrast, clear fonts, text and background color contrast.  We have used input borders where feasible as well as using text above 14 points and bold as much as possible.

We have also considered cognitive accommodation such as content layout and structure consistency to allow a similar flow and experience between pages as well as easy to find document files and forms.

We have considered neurological accommodations and have eliminated any motion or animation elements which could impact individuals which may be sensitive to motion, dizziness or seizures. 

We have considered speech accommodations by providing forms and email options in addition to telephone numbers.

  

We are a non-profit church and we are limited in our ability and budget to accommodate everyone in all circumstances.  We know that some parts of this website may not be fully accessible to all people, such as videos may not have captions and there is likely a limit on how far you can magnify content.  In addition, we do not have the expertise or familiarity to assess the capability of the website to interface with the latest audio reading technology or alternative keyboard interface. 

 

While we are compassionate and accepting followers of Jesus Christ, this website is not compliant with all WCAG standards and the accessibility standards of other countries in which users may be accessing our website.  However, Good News Chinese Christian Church is committed to reasonably making our website accessible to as many people as possible so they may also share in the love of God.
